Recycled Silver

Recycled silver or ‘Eco-silver’ as it is also known, retains the same high quality as newly mined silver and lasts just as long without all of the negatives.

Silver mining has many disadvantages such as soil erosion, pollution and destruction of natural habitats including deforestation and a reduction in biodiversity.  It also uses huge amount of water, energy and chemicals.  This damage to the environment is unsustainable long term.  Many mines also exploit workers with dangerous working conditions, poor pay and exposure to toxic chemicals.

Jewellery which has been crafted from recycled silver is both ethically and environmentally responsible.  It reduces waste and conserves natural resources.

Recycled silver is much more sustainable as it has a minimal carbon footprint, the resources to create it are much less than mining it from the earth. It also reduces demand and therefore reduces the negative impact of silver mining. By purchasing recycled silver jewellery you are making a stand against unethical mining companies and helping to promote responsible business practices.

Recycled silver does not lose any of its quality, still being classed as sterling. Eco silver has a purity of 925. Which means it's 92.5% pure silver. This is called Sterling Silver because silver on its own is very soft, but the additional 7.5% alloy makes the silver much stronger and perfect for creating sterling silver jewellery.
